Figaro joins some of her friends on an evening out to see a play at the local theater. It was Figaro's first play and she loved it!

They went to a special kind of theater called a Black Box theater. Most theaters can only be set up one way: the audience always sits in the same place, the stage is always in the same place, and the stage is usually far away from the audience. In a Black Box theater, they can move things around however they want, and the actors usually don't have lots of props or special effects. In this play, the audience sat on all four sides of the stage and the actors had lots of rolly chairs and imaginary tables. Figaro thought it was pretty fun, even though she couldn't always see the actor's faces.

The play was called "Sense and Sensibility." It's about a family who are kicked out of their lovely home and have to make new friends in an unfamiliar place. The two main characters are sisters named Elinor and Marianne, who love each other very much but are very different; Elinor thinks Marianne is too excitable, and Marianne thinks Elinor is never excited about anything. Figaro thought Marianne was sweet and silly, and that Elinor was just clean sweet. Both sisters fall in love, although things don't work out the way they expected. The play made Figaro cry once or twice, but it was also very funny and ended happily.

Figaro loved seeing this play with her friends and hopes she can see another play soon! Maybe in a traditional theater next time. What are your favorite plays? What do you think Figaro should see next?
